A timeless piece for serving cheese platters and hors d'oevres. The board’s warm tones and unusual aesthetic are guaranteed to brighten any dining table or kitchen space. Handcrafted from sustainably-sourced wood in Guatemala.

  • 8.5”W x 16”L
  • Teak + Granadillo woods, with natural variations in wood color and grain
  • Food safe
  • Handwash in warm soapy water, dry promptly

Hardwoods will last a lifetime with a little care. We recommend conditioning with a mixture of beeswax and food safe linseed oil, mineral oil, or any other natural oil that does not turn rancid. Do this once a week for the first month and then sporadically to restore vibrancy when the wood dulls.

Every gift tells a story

Itza Wood was founded in the Péten Jungle, the largest remaining tropical forest of Central America. Before touching a single tree, Itza's reforestation project had planted 45,000 trees in the heart of the jungle, their way of deepening their commitment to one of nature’s most beautiful treasures. Their mission is to break the cycle of poverty in this region of Guatemala. By providing education and employment opportunities to local residents, they celebrate traditions while empowering and creating a better future for the people.

Itza works with community organized and FSC certified lumber yards and purchase woods certified by the Forest Stewardship Council. To ensure durability, the tropical woods are kiln-dried,  de-stressing them to prevent warping and changes, and the lumber is then transformed by a talented team of carvers, carpenters, and craftspeople.
